Which soft lure should you choose?

Colour

As for colour, the starting point will be the environment. The clearer it is, the more natural tones you will use; the more opaque it is, the more flashy colours or dark shades — going as far as black — you will use. This is a baseline that will need to be adjusted from day to day.

Vibration

As for vibration, the noisier the environment, the more we need our lure to be detected, and the more we will look to emit vibrations through appendages or a more or less pronounced tail. The firmness of the lure's rubber will also play a role. The calmer the environment, the more we can use discreet lures and slow animations.

Size

Size will also be a determining factor. In general, the colder the water, the larger the lure you use. However, you must also take into account the size of the prey and adapt your choice based on what you see beneath the surface and the target species.

Classic sizes by species:

- Perch: 3 to 8cm
- Zander: 5 to 12cm
- Pike: 10 to 20cm
- Sea bass: 8 to 14cm
