Jointed swimbaits

Fitted with one or more joints, a lip or not, rattles or not, a soft tail or feathers, these lures all have one thing in common: their irresistibly seductive swimming action. As a general rule, a simple straight retrieve is enough to bring them to life. Best used on days when large bass, perch, pike and other predators are hunting large prey or when territorial behaviour needs to be triggered.

How to use a jointed lure?

Straight retrieve

We can distinguish 2 main types of swimming action: those with one joint will tend to produce an "S" swim, while those with several joints will have a slightly more realistic and tighter action with a head that deviates less from the axis.

Stop & Go,

Pause your retrieve and the lure will dart sideways. Deadly for triggering the strike of a following fish.

With twitches,

By punctuating your retrieve with sharp rod-tip movements, the lure will dart sideways like a jerkbait. For longer darts, leave a little slack in your line.

Customisation of a jointed lure

Using additional weights will allow you to vary their action even further: faster retrieve speed and/or greater swimming depth.
