Which braid to choose?

4-strand braids

A 4-strand braid is more abrasion resistant, but will be less discreet due to a looser weave.

8-strand and above braids

An 8-strand or higher braid will have greater linear strength for the same diameter, casting distances are longer and the tighter weave makes it more discreet in the water. Some feature a coating that further enhances its properties.
